Miranda Lambert And Tourmates Win 2020 ACM Music Event Of The Year

Miranda Lambert and her 2019 "Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars" tourmates are early winners at this year's ACM Awards. The country star, along with Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack and Elle King, won Music Event of the Year for their collaborative performance of "Fooled Around And Fell In Love."

The song, originally written and released by blues guitarist Elvin Bishop in the '70s, has been covered by a number of other artists over the years. Lambert and her tourmates' version was released in September of 2019 at the start of the "Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour."

Their version of the song was produced by Jay Joyce, who also produced Lambert's 2019 Wildcard album. Other stars who were in the running for Music Event of the Year includes Dan + Shay and Justin Beiber's "10,000 Hours," Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton's "Dive Bar," Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Old Town Road" and Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell's "What Happens In A Small Town."

The win marks Lambert's 35th career ACM Award, extending her reign as the most-awarded artist in the show's history. The honor is also Townes' second of the year as she was previously named 2020's ACM New Female Artist of the Year.

Lambert, Townes and Morris are set to perform during this year's ACM Awards. From The Bluebird Cafe, Lambert will perform her hit "Bluebird" with co-writers Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby, while Morris and Townes on the Ryman Auditorium stage.

This year’s ACM Awards were rescheduled from the original Las Vegas date in April due to the coronavirus pandemic. The three-hour show will broadcast from three iconic venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

Additional performers for the night include Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Mickey Guyton and Morgan Wallen, who will perform from the Opry. Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Riley Green, Old Dominion and Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, will perform from the Ryman. Lastly, Lambert will be joined at The Bluebird by Jimmie Allen, Luke Combs and Tim McGraw.

The 2020 ACM Awards will take place on September 16, 2020 at 8PM ET. Fans can tune in to watch the show live on CBS at 8PM ET.
