Yesterday I spent the day in Las Vegas. With survivors & families that are still at Sunrise Hospital that let me come visit & sing for them, the *incredible* ER staff let me serenade them too and they talked through stories from that night and how they are coping now (“be careful who you hug” 😭), I got to see my friends at the Las Vegas radio stations and hear their experiences at the festival too, more hugs, and then gathered to play music and raise donations at A Night of Healing. Not gonna lie it was hard on my heart to hear what everyone went through, but the surprising part was the overwhelming amount of stories that restored my faith in humanity. Who would’ve guessed that kindness was so automatic?? That heroism came naturally to SO many people that night?? The hidden miracles like all those belts that became tourniquets. 💛I know the healing will take a while, and I‘m sorry to remind you of the painful parts through a post like this (I’m honestly dreading all the award show recaps)- but all these good people will have ups and downs as they recover and wrap their heads around it all, and they will need our support and love for a long time. Listen to them, give hugs, spread kindness, and sing whenever you can 💛 #vegasstrong
